Lead UX Designer | Designing Intuitive, Impactful & Human-Centred Digital Experiences | Service Design | Strategic Thinker in Product & Design | GDS Experience | Data, Data Visualisation, ML and AI.

I am a passionate and purpose-led UX designer crafting intuitive, inclusive, and ethical digital services that offer real value to users and society. I focus on creating experiences that are useful, usable, and meaningful, enabling people to complete essential tasks with clarity and confidence.

With experience across sectors including energy, retail, education, and government, I bring a broad skill set across UX, UI, interaction design, service design, and user research. I’ve worked with platforms like Salesforce and ServiceNow, and I’m currently growing my skills in data visualisation, AI, ML, Python, and earning a Six Sigma Green Belt.

I apply Design Thinking, Agile, and Lean methodologies and have hands-on experience with the GOV.UK Service Standard and design systems such as GDS and Google Material Design. I am a strong advocate for accessibility, inclusivity, and design that serves everyone.

Atos – UX Designer (September 2022 – Present)

DEFRA – Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR):

HMRC – Make Tax Digital (MTD & ARS):

Capita – UX Designer (May 2021 – September 2022)

As a consultant at Capita, I played a crucial role in the Royal Navy’s Defence Learning Environment (DLE), modernising it for accessibility, flexibility, and effectiveness to better prepare cadets for the frontline and future education or career paths.

Through on-site research at multiple naval bases (BRNC Dartmouth, HMS Collingwood, CTCRM Lympstone, HMS Raleigh), I mapped user needs across recruits and personnel, created personas and information architecture, and improved course discovery, SSO, offline access, and mobile-first design.

I built prototypes with branching simulations and introduced varied learning styles (microlearning, mastery learning, project-/problem-based tasks, social learning, dual coding with more visuals, and scenarios with auditory/kinesthetic approaches), documenting patterns and recommendations to support adoption and future iteration.

Howdens Ltd – UX Designer (November 2019 – July 2020)

As a UX/UI and graphic designer at Howden Joinery Group Plc, I designed and maintained responsive components for the e-commerce platform across desktop, tablet, and mobile, using Sketch and Figma with pixel-perfect grids (e.g., 12-column desktop, 4-column mobile).

I evolved the design system via Abstract, Anima, and Zeplin, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and usability across all digital assets.

Collaborating with marketing designers, UX researchers, and product designers, I optimised customer journeys, enhanced website effectiveness, and supported marketing campaigns to drive engagement and conversion.

BoilerJuice Ltd – UX Designer (August 2018 – March 2019)

I designed a digital system that connects external heating-oil tanks to a real-time monitoring network via smart sensors, surfacing data in users’ BoilerJuice accounts on web and mobile.

The interface simplified complex data and provided peace of mind, enhancing energy efficiency and supply planning.

InfoAware Ltd – E-learning Designer (2017 – 2018)

Developed custom e-learning modules with illustrations and interactivity using Adobe Captivate and Articulate Storyline.

Designed a digital platform tailored for e-learning and course creation.

Redesigned the website’s visual identity with bespoke iconography to enhance digital presence and educational resources. The visual language emphasised accessibility, simplicity, and adaptability across screens.

Europa Science Ltd – Web Designer (2016)

Designed and maintained accessible, standards-compliant websites aligned with W3C guidelines, while developing responsive email campaigns using HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, WordPress, and Drupal.

Delivered web design solutions complemented by graphic design for newsletters, expert blogs, and thought-leadership articles.

Beyond technical delivery, I created engaging, user-centred experiences that simplified complex concepts. Every design decision emphasised accessibility, clarity, and adaptability to ensure content connected with audiences across platforms.

In parallel with coding and design, I supported campaigns that strengthened trust and visibility—elevating newsletter identity and producing graphics for expert blogs—to enhance digital presence and deliver measurable impact.

Xanthos – Senior Graphic Designer & UX (2009 – 2016)

Impala – Infographic Designer (2000 – 2008)

At Impala Publishing, a leading Portuguese media group, I collaborated with journalists and designers to create compelling infographics and illustrations.

My artwork featured in several well-known magazines, including:

Using Adobe Illustrator, I transformed complex data and narratives into accessible, visually appealing content, enhancing the reader experience across diverse publications.

United Cerebral Palsy – Graphic Designer (1997 – 1998)

At United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Middle Tennessee, a US charity supporting individuals with disabilities, I designed marketing and branding materials that strengthened fundraising efforts.

My work supported the promotion of major events such as:

Through creative design, I contributed to UCP’s outreach and fundraising success, advancing their mission to promote independence and full participation in society for people with disabilities.
